Important Information & Standards

Our technical consultants have many years of first hand experience and acquired knowledge to assist with any technical query you may have regarding the installation and usage of your products and systems.

Buildings and Structures

All parties participating in the commissioning, design and specification, construction and management of a project, have a responsibility to ensure that any building or structure complies with all mandatory and advisory Australian Building, OHS and Height Safety Legislation, standards and codes.

Client Responsibility ( Owner/Developer/Project Manager)

Overall responsibility for commissioning of work, and consultation with designer and person with control of a construction project or work, to ensure that all information is provided and certification obtained for nominated end user.

Designer Responsibility (Architect/Engineer/Consultant)

Responsibility to client for design and specification, and issue of certification stating compliance with all requirements.

Persons with Control of Construction or Workplace (Builder/Project Manager/Principal Contractor)

Responsibility to client for construction and management, and issue of final certification after satisfactory completion, stating compliance with all requirements and providing stipulated workmanship warranty. Responsibility to persons engaged to undertake construction work, to provide information and instruction, training and induction. (Information to be complied and recorded, monitored and reviewed, maintained and updated during course of construction work)

Products and Systems

All parties participating in the design and manufacture, supply and installation of products and systems for a project, have a responsibility to ensure compliance with all mandatory and advisory Australian Building, OHS and Height Safety legislation, standards and codes.

Proprietary Equipment Supplier/Manufacturer

Responsibility to designer or builder for design and specification, manufacture and supply, testing and certification stating compliance with all requirements.

Persons Engaged to Undertake Construction/Installation Work (Subcontractor/Accredited Installer)

Responsibility to principal contractor or builder for correct installation and certification, stating compliance of fitting and securing of proprietary equipment to any building or structure.

Basic Terms & Definitions

‘High-Risk Construction Work

Includes work undertaken where there is a risk of a person falling two metres or more.

Primary Anchor Point

Main or primary anchorage point.

Diversion Anchor Point

Anchorage point to prevent pendulum effect.

Static Load

Constant load sustained by anchorage point.

Dynamic Load

Shock load sustained by anchorage point at time of fall.

Roof Pitch 0°to 15°

Attachment to anchorage point required when in ‘Danger Zone’ ie. Unlikely that a person will slide of the roof in the event of a fall.

Roof Pitch 15° and over

Continuous attachment to anchorage point required at all times. ie. Likely that a person will slide off the roof in the event of a fall.
